Panabo, Davao del Norte, Philippines, 11 February 2025 – Damosa Land Inc., Mindanao’s leading real estate and agro-industrial developer, has announced a strategic partnership with Thai Coconut Public Company Limited (COCOCO) through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). This collaboration brings a cutting-edge coconut milk production facility to the Anflo Industrial Estate (AIE), reinforcing Mindanao’s position as a rising agro-industrial hub in Southeast Asia.
“This partnership aligns with our mission to empower local industries and fuel sustainable growth,” said Lagdameo. “With COCOCO’s global expertise, we’re building a value chain that boosts income, employment, and international competitiveness for Mindanao.”
Empowering Agriculture and Trade in Mindanao
COCOCO, a recognized leader in coconut-based products, is investing approximately 430 Million Baht (roughly ₱660 million) to establish the facility within AIE. The project will significantly enhance its global production capacity, while supporting Mindanao’s coconut farmers through consistent demand and industry collaboration.
Under the MOU, a 25-year land lease was agreed upon, with the facility scheduled for completion by Q1 2026. COCOCO’s decision to locate in AIE reflects the park’s strategic access to raw materials, international shipping routes via the Davao International Container Terminal, and cost-effective logistics.
“We chose AIE for its world-class infrastructure and abundant coconut supply,” said Dr. Chinpinkyo. “This investment strengthens the coconut industry while improving the livelihoods of local farmers.”
COCOCO also intends to apply for incentives under the Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA), optimizing its operations through fiscal and non-fiscal benefits.
Strengthening the Regional Economy
With its location in the ASEAN Free Trade Area (AFTA), the facility is poised to expand COCOCO’s global reach while uplifting the local economy. The initiative is a testament to Damosa Land’s vision of turning AIE into a catalyst for sustainable, inclusive economic development in Mindanao.
“Attracting international investors like COCOCO shows the strength of our vision for AIE,” Lagdameo added. “We are committed to partnerships that bring innovation, jobs, and long-term value to the region.”
Boosting Employment and Sustainable Development
The facility is expected to generate hundreds of job opportunities, from construction to full-scale operations, benefiting both skilled and unskilled workers across Davao del Norte. It will also foster knowledge transfer, training local talent in advanced manufacturing techniques and international quality standards.
Aligned with Damosa Land’s sustainability goals, COCOCO will adopt eco-conscious production methods that promote environmental resilience and support the growth of sustainable communities across Mindanao.
The project is anticipated to stimulate upstream and downstream industries, including packaging, logistics, and infrastructure, creating a ripple effect of socio-economic growth throughout the region.
