Construction is officially underway for TRYP by Wyndham Samal, marking a significant milestone in the development of Samal Island’s first internationally branded hotel. Following its successful launch in January 2026, the project entered its land development phase in May, with excavation works reaching 30% completion as of July. With 70% of the project already sold, strong market interest further reinforces the momentum behind the development and Damosa Land’s commitment to delivering it on schedule despite ongoing challenges affecting the construction industry.
The start of construction brings the vision of a vibrant beachfront destination one step closer to reality. Once completed, TRYP by Wyndham Samal will offer modern accommodations, thoughtfully designed amenities, and the globally recognized hospitality standards of the Wyndham brand. The hotel is envisioned to strengthen Samal’s position as a premier leisure and tourism destination while supporting the island’s growing visitor economy.
Momentum for the project is further reinforced by the island’s improving accessibility and infrastructure, including the ongoing Samal Island–Davao City Connector Project, which is expected to enhance connectivity between Samal and the Davao mainland. As development progresses, Damosa Land remains focused on creating a destination that celebrates the island’s natural beauty while contributing to its long-term tourism and economic growth. Every milestone brings TRYP by Wyndham Samal closer to welcoming guests to a fresh and distinctly Samal hospitality experience.
