DAVAO—Shared office space provider IWG signed on Friday a franchise partnership agreement with property developer Damosa Land Inc. (DLI) to meet the constant strong demand
More Than Just A Tower
Damosa Land Inc.’s (DLI’s) Diamond Tower is more than just a tower. It showcases “green architecture” designs which means the tower is designed and built with sustainability in mind.
DlLI recently celebrated Diamond Tower’s topping off ceremony of the 17-storey building at Damosa Complex, Lanang, Davao City.
The tower, which has a land area of 2,200 square meters and a building footprint of around 1,800 square meters, is expected to bolster Davao City’s growing office space needs as more investments are now leading to the south.
It is the commitment of DLI to provide a more sustainable option to business. The tower promotes the use of renewable energy and will give its locators access to alternative power sources and proof are the custom-made exterior fins that are installed to help divert heat, environmentally-sound features that include LED lighting and eco-friendly insulation to prevent air gaps and stop drafts.
Another important aspect is the curtain glass wall called Low-E Glass, which is environment-friendly and blocks the heat of the sun from coming in.
The tower is also being poised to be a landmark in Davao. The tower’s facade depicts the wavy lines of banana fibers, which is Davao’s top export commodity.
“The challenge is how can we depict something that is so important in the family, which is agriculture and how could we enter that into the architectural design of the building. This is going to be a very beautiful building and it is shaping up already,” said DLI first vice president Ricardo “Cary” Lagdameo.
Apart from the sleek curved lines, the tower also boasts of its unique architectural design such as the distinctive panels as well as its engineering works.
Lagdameo said as a private sector this is their way of contributing to the “Build Build Build” program of the Duterte administration.
“This is really a story of growth. As you all know Davao City and Davao Region have really been growing and this is our way to contribute to the growth story of the region,” he said.
DLI is looking to launch the tower in April this year. Upon completion, the building will house around 50 locators including the corporate offices of the Anflocor Group and DLI, expansive co-working spaces like Regus, Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) and Knowledge Process Outsourcing (KPO) companies.
The addition of the tower to DLI’s portfolio expands its properties for lease in Damosa complex as it offers 20,000 sqms of leasable area to other premier companies.
To complement the expected rise of economic activity, DLI will also construct a car park building in the Damosa IT Park that will hold about 350 vehicles and is set to be fully operational later this year.
