Suzuki Philippines Marine Department has long been known to organize regular coastal clean-up drives all over the Philippines. This year, Davao City would be the 4th area to be included and be a part in their advocacy – that is “giving back to the environment”.
Rommel Cabanela, Suzuki Marine Group Head, in his opening remarks stated that they have been doing the coastal clean-up drive in Luzon, Visayas (particularly in Boracay), and Davao City for their (as mentioned) the 4th area to be visited. “We still believe that we can make a difference when it comes to our environment,” Cabanela stated.
Davao Boat and Leisure Club., in coordination with Damosa Land Inc, were tapped to partake in this action towards a safe and clean environment. This is also participated by dragon boat teams such as Ricspeed and Dragon del Sur, with the participation of Anflocor’s affiliate companies namely Anflo Industrial Estate (AIEC), Anflocon and Microtel Davao. All participants gathered at Lanang Aplaya Beach Resort early in the morning.
Suzuki of America Marine Division also held the same event at the Long Beach Marine Stadium and Marina Vista Park on January 26, 2019 and encourahes all of its distributors to do the same around the globe under the “Clean Up The World” banner.
This effort is just one of the global events taking place as part of Suzuki Motor Corporation’s (SMC) “Clean Up The World” campaign. The campaign started in Japan when SMC’s Marine Division decided to clean up the area around Lake Sanaru, which coincidently is considered the birthplace of Suzuki’s outboards.
