Floirendo Clan Launches Seawind by Damosa Land
FOUR generations of the Floirendo clan headed by the matriarch, Dona Nenita del Rosario vda. de Antonio Floirendo, happily joined hands in launching the family-owned Damosa Land’s latest residential project called Seawind last August 8, 2015, at the Damosa Complex’s Car Park.
“Since the time of my grandfather, lawyer and businessman Antonio Floirendo, Sr., Damosa Land has always envisioned itself to be recognized as the biggest home-grown real estate developer in the region. This new Damosa Land project called Seawind offers a resort-type of condo-living experience to Davaoenos at a very competitive price. So far, the market has been quite receptive; and that is to our surprise,” the articulate Ricardo Luis “Cary” Floirendo Lagdameo informed. Cary is presently the Vice President for Residential Projects of the Damosa Land. He is the son of former Amb. Antonio “Tonet” M. Lagdameo and and Linda Floirendo-Lagdameo. Cary is married to the young business entrepreneur, Tina Trillana-Lagdameo, of Go Nuts Donuts fame.
VP Cary also informed the guests/clients that Damosa Land has opened the condominium project’s showroom and customer lounge at the Damosa Market Basket to enable clients to see for themselves Seawind’s model units of a studio type and a 2-bedroom plan. “Since the launch and groundbreaking last April, 2015, we have already sold 336 units comprising the first two towers. Tower 3 is on its way to be launched,” revealed Cary.
Witnessing Cary Floirendo-Lagdameo conducting himself so professionally on stage that night was dotting grandma, Dona Nenita Floirendo, who lovingly asked, “Kanino nagmana yan?” to which Cary’s mom, Linda Floirendo-Lagdameo, quickly responded, “Eh di siempre, sa lola!” That was a touching moment I witnessed. I was fortunate to be sitting right next to the talented Floirendo artiste, Maricris Floirendo-Brias, whom I so admire for being such a patroness of Mindanao’s slowly dying art of handloom weaving.
Cary Floirendo Lagdameo took his Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies degree from the Ateneo de Manila University. He then obtained his Masters Degree in Business Administration from the Columbia Business School of Columbia University, New York, USA. He worked as a Marketing Assistant for ING Boring Bank before returning home to Manila to work as General Manager of the Lagdameo family’s Carrije Cargo, Inc. and the Je Suis Gourmand, Inc. “Cary is also self-conscious and rather vain in a good way among my children. He wants to look good at all times and keeps fit,” said the proud mom of her beloved son. Well, it helps that Cary’s wife,Tina, is one of the owners of the fitness studio, Plana Forma, along with Iya Guingona-Lagdameo, the fit wife of Cary’s brother, Jose Manuel Floirendo Lagdameo.
The starry-starry launch of Seawind that August night was planned to be Damosa Land’s grandest event to date. Former actress turned businesswoman Juliana Palermo emceed ever so ably the event. Introduced to the guests that evening is Damosa Land’s reigning brand ambassador, Jodi Sta. Maria. “Jodi Sta. Maria embodies what Damosa Land stands for. She is everyone’s inspirational character who can very well represent Seawind. This project seeks to target the young professionals, newly married couples, and those who aspire to move to a better place in an urban setting.” Seawind stands in the heart of Davao City’s next growth area, Sasa.
“I’m truly honoured because Damosa Land is known for its progressive and contemporary designs. Best of all, it is quite conscious of its role in the environment and community. I love progressive and peaceful Davao City; and I wouldn’t mind making it my second home,” Jodi Sta. Maria told the admiring audience.
Earning more admiration and fans of all ages in Davao City that evening was the world-class shadow play group from Batangas, El Gamma Penumbra, who made history as the first winner of Asia’s Got Talent. Joining El Gamma Penumbra provide entertainment was Y-Fi comprised of five young Davaoeno singers from Ricky Floirendo’s music school. Y-Fi is this year’s Grand Champion of the Vocal Group at the World Championship of the Performing Arts in Los Angeles, USA. Juliet Bahala, among the other singers, impressed the crowd as well.
Spotted in the Seawind Launch as well were veteran actor Philip Salvador and Ina Revilla-del Rosario, the daughter of Senator Bong and Lani Revilla, who accompanied Jodi Sta. Maria to Davao.
